MEET THE WOMEN

The women who create Timbali Crafts are all volunteer cooks at feeding centers
for orphans in their communities. In the midst of their own hardships they give of
their time and energy to help children in need. Six days a week they haul water
and bags of corn meal, gather wood, and cook over a fire for anywhere from 20
to 150 children. For many of them it's work they've been doing for years before
there was ever an income generating opportunity associated with it.

Timbali Crafts seeks to serve these women by giving them an opportunity to
provide for their families, while allowing them to continue with their volunteer
work, which is vital to their communities. A consistent income can help give a
greater sense of self worth to the women, make them less likely to seek out
money through harmful relationships, and able to provide better education and
nutrition for their children.
